City & Housing Notes

Kampala (Kololo, Naguru, Bugolobi) is the main city. The expat community is reasonably large due to NGOs and development organisations. Basic pet services available. Uganda's climate is pleasant in the highlands.

Vets & Health After Arrival

Basic vet care in Kampala with a few adequate clinics. Makerere University has a veterinary faculty. Limited specialist services. Rabies is endemic — vaccination critical. Tick-borne diseases common — year-round prevention needed.

Leaving Uganda With Your Dog

Exit requires a health certificate and export permit from MAAIF. Processing takes 3–5 working days.

Videos & Route Walkthroughs

Community Tips & Nearby Routes

Community reports are useful for practical details such as which cargo desk answers the phone, how long collection took, or whether a landlord asked for insurance. Treat them as tips, then verify rules with the authority and airline.
