City & Housing Notes

Amman (Abdoun, Sweifieh, Jabal Amman) is the main destination. Jordan has a moderate pet culture with improving vet care. Many expat homes and apartments accept dogs. The climate is hot and dry — indoor dogs with AC are recommended in summer.

Vets & Health After Arrival

Reasonable vet care in Amman with several modern clinics, some English-speaking. Costs are moderate. Outside Amman, vet care is very limited. Summer heat is intense — AC essential. Tick and flea prevention year-round.

Leaving Jordan With Your Dog

Exit requires a health certificate from a Ministry of Agriculture-approved vet. Processing takes 2–3 working days.
