Official Import Rules
Ghana requires an ISO microchip, current rabies vaccination, a government-endorsed health certificate issued within 10 days of travel, and an import permit from the Veterinary Services Department (VSD). The import permit process involves two steps: first, submit an application letter to the Minister of the Ministry of Food and Agriculture (MOFA) for approval; then, submit the approval letter online through the Integrated Customs Management System (ICUMS) to the Director of the VSD for evaluation. Dogs must also be accompanied by a health attestation report and vaccination records before a permit is issued. Parasite treatment required. Arrival through Kotoka International Airport (ACC) Accra.
