Official Import Rules
Armenia requires dogs to have a microchip (ISO 11784/11785), a valid rabies vaccination administered at least 21 days before arrival, and an international veterinary health certificate issued within 10 days of travel. The health certificate must be endorsed by your government veterinary authority. No import permit is required for personal pets (1–2 dogs). Armenia does not require a rabies titer test. Dogs under 3 months old that have not been vaccinated against rabies may be imported with a declaration that they have not been in contact with rabid animals.

City & Housing Notes
Yerevan is where nearly all expats live. The city is very walkable with a moderate climate. Pet-friendly apartments are available, especially in the Kentron (center), Arabkir, and Davtashen neighborhoods. Gyumri and Vanadzor are smaller cities with lower costs but fewer services.
Vets & Health After Arrival
Yerevan has several modern veterinary clinics with English-speaking vets. Vet care is significantly more affordable than Western Europe. VetLine, Arvet, and the Armenian Veterinary Association clinic are well-regarded. Outside Yerevan, veterinary care is more basic.
Leaving Armenia With Your Dog
Exit requirements depend on destination. Armenian veterinary services can issue health certificates for departure. Allow several business days for processing.
